PlanToys Triceratops: Pretend-Play Ideas

The PlanToys Triceratops is a compact figure for prehistoric scenes and small-world play. It is made from PlanWood™, and the manufacturer recommends it from 12 months.

Play ideas

• Create a small world: combine the figure with blocks, large stones or other safe, age-appropriate elements.
• Invent stories: act out journeys, encounters with other animals or care routines.
• Sort animals: as children get older, group dinosaurs by size, colour or type.
• Build vocabulary: name body parts, movements and features of the animal.

Open-ended play

A simple figure does not need lights or sounds to offer many possibilities. It can be part of different stories each time and combined with materials the child already uses.
